Position Summary

The Department of Computer Science at Bowdoin College invites applications for a two-year, full-time Visiting Assistant Professor with possible extension for a third year to begin July 1, 2018. We seek applicants from all areas of computer science and digital studies. In particular, we encourage applications from scholars in interdisciplinary fields that intersect with computer science such as any of the computational sciences, computational social sciences or digital humanities.

The teaching load is two courses per semester. The successful candidate will demonstrate a capacity for excellence in teaching, engagement in research, and a commitment to undergraduate liberal arts education.

Requirements for Ph.D. expected to have been completed at the time of appointment, advanced ABD will be considered.
